The Cabinet Remains 1.5 Months, Jokowi Considers The Importance Of A Definitive Social Minister

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo conveyed that the inauguration of the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) is very important even though the remaining government period is less than two months.

"Yes, the work scale, the work scale at the Ministry of Social Affairs is huge and concerns the people below. If it is not held specifically by the definitive, the decision will be different," said Jokowi at the Ibu Kota Nusantara Palace, East Kalimantan, Thursday, September 12, which was confiscated by Antara.

Jokowi then explained the reason why he appointed Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul as the definitive Minister of Social Affairs.

According to Jokowi, the figure of Gus Ipul, who was once a minister, will facilitate this task.

"I think it's easy. Even though it's only 1.5 months away, it's important," said Jokowi.

President Joko Widodo inaugurated Saifullah Yusuf as the definitive Minister of Social Affairs replacing Tri Rismaharini who resigned to run in the 2024 Pilkada contestation.

Risma was previously temporarily replaced by the Acting Minister of Social Affairs who is the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy.

The inauguration of Syaifullah Yusuf was held at the State Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 11 at around 09.00 WIB, in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 102B 2024 concerning the Appointment of the Minister of Social Affairs for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet 2019 2024.
