Alleged Misappropriation Of Aceh-North Aceh XXI PON Funds, Police Task Force Intervenes

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has begun to investigate cases of alleged misappropriation of financial management in the XXI National Sports Week (PON) in Aceh and North Sumatra. One thing that will be done in handling is going to the location to ensure the truth behind the allegations.

Wadir Tindak Pidana Korupsi Bareskrim Polri Kombes Arief Adiharsa menyebut satgas akan menuju lokasi pada Jumat 13 September. Nantinya, serangkaian pendalaman akan dilakukan.

"The task force team from Headquarters on Friday headed to the XXI PON location, among others, to provide assistance from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and explore what was reported," said Arief when confirmed, Thursday, September 12.

Allegations of fraud are related to inadequate infrastructure, accommodation, and services to athletes.

Moreover, previously there was a viral video showing volleyball athletes who had to pass through the puddles to enter the venue.

Thus, the arrival of the task force to ensure whether or not there is a criminal offense behind this.

Arief had said that the Assistance Task Force was a joint team from the Directorate of Corruption Crimes at Bareskrim Polri and Polda that oversees financial management in the implementation of these sports activities.

"In the context of prevention and assistance so that XXI PON activities are carried out and there are no irregularities in financial management," said Arief.

Meanwhile, the alleged fraud was based on a report from the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo. The report was carried out using a coordination scheme with the task force.
