PDIP Issue Joins Government Coalition, PKB: Completely Prabowo's Authority

JAKARTA - Deputy Secretary General of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Syaiful Huda said that his party has fully handed over to Prabowo Subianto as the elected president regarding the PDI-P issue that he will join the Prabowo-Gibran government coalition in the next five years. PKB, he said, supports whatever Prabowo's decision regarding the government coalition.

"This is once again the full authority of Pak Prabowo as president-elect," said Syaiful at the DPR building, parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 11.

However, Syaiful admitted that he did not know for sure whether Prabowo invited PDIP to join the governing coalition for the next five years. What is certain, he said, is that Prabowo wants to embrace all elements of the nation, including political parties, to work together to build the Indonesian nation.

"I don't know exactly, but if you look at Pak Prabowo's statements, gestures, and spirit, this embraces everything. I don't know exactly, embracing it directly into the cabinet, all parties including PDIP or not," said Syaiful.

Previously, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani said there was an opportunity for PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri to be elected president for the 2024-2029 period, Prabowo Subianto to discuss the coalition. According to Puan, Prabowo and Megawati will discuss many things when they meet, including the matter of the coalition.

"Silaturahmi is important, there will be a meeting, God willing, yes. That there will be talks there, we'll just have to wait," said Puan last Tuesday.

Although it is open to discussing the coalition, said Puan, it is possible that the Prabowo-Megawati meeting did not discuss the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet seat. According to her, the discussion about the cabinet was too far away.

"We are still going too far (discussing on cabinet seats) and we have done communication. I also often meet Pak Prabowo at various events. So yes, always communicate. Always stay in touch," he said.

Separately, Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani said there was an opportunity that Prabowo Subianto and fifth president Megawati Soekarnoputri would hold a meeting. Muzani said the opportunity for the meeting of the two figures could occur before Prabowo's inauguration as president for the 2024-2029 period.

This was conveyed by Muzani after meeting Megawati at the national gathering and handing over the letter from the MPR leadership regarding the repeal of TAP MPRS Number XXXIII/MPRS/1967 to the family of President Soekarno at the Nusantara V MPR/DPR/DPD Building, Senayan, Jakarta, last Monday.

During his meeting with Megawati, Muzani denied any invitation to Megawati for the PDI-P to enter the government of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Muzani revealed that he and Megawati did not discuss matters related to politics. However, he said that Megawati greeted Prabowo.
