President Putin: Russia Must Be Ready To Win Aggression From All Ways

JAKARTA - Russia must be ready to fend off any potential military aggression from all directions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, while speaking to the participants of the "Ocean-2024" exercise.

"Russia must be ready to face any developments. Our armed forces must provide reliable protection against Russia's sovereignty and national interests, expelling military aggression from all directions, including in oceans and maritime zones," President Putin stressed, quoted by TASS on September 11.

"The Navy plays a key role in completing this task," he said.

Russia and China held a joint exercise as part of the largest Russian naval exercise since the Soviet era on Tuesday.

President Putin said the extended "Ocean-2024" strategic exercise would be carried out from the Mediterranean to the Pacific, testing unitary combat readiness and the use of high-precision weapons, including a promising new strain. This exercise will also combine lessons learned from Russia's "special military operations" in Ukraine.

President Putin hopes the participants of the exercise "successfully in completing the tasks given."

"Good luck!" said the President who followed the opening via video conference.

It is known that more than 400 warships, submarines, and support ships from additional fleets, more than 120 aircraft and helicopters from naval and Aerospace flights, about 7,000 units of military equipment and special equipment, as well as more than 90,000 personnel participated in Ocean-2024 exercises.

Manuvers in this exercise are carried out in the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Arctic, as well as the Mediterranean Sea, Kaspia and Baltic.

The main objective of Ocean-2024 exercises is to assess the readiness of senior Russian Navy command in managing diverse combat groups, handling unconventional operational tasks, and using advanced military equipment and high precision.

Another main goal is to increase cooperation with the navy of partner countries in carrying out joint missions at sea.

This exercise involved various naval formations and associations led directly by naval commander Admiral Akexander Moiseyev.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, these maneuvers will be one of the main operational and combat training events for the Russian Armed Forces this year.
