JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said he would continue to tour the regions to ensure that national strategic projects run well even though they will have offices in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

"Oh no, I am going to all regions. I am going to the regions, maybe only departing from IKN," said the President on the sidelines of a working visit in North Sumatra, Tuesday, September 10.

This was conveyed by Jokowi regarding the news that the plan was to have an office for 40 days at IKN before retirement.

He said that activities to tour the area while based in IKN can be taken by plane from IKN's new airport if conditions allow.

If it is not possible then the trip can be taken from the airport in Balikpapan.

"Yes, we will see the condition, if the airport is only ready to be able to fly, yes from a new airport. If not, from Balikpapan," he said.

The President conveyed that his activities during his office at the IKN Presidential Palace were the same as activities carried out at the Jakarta Palace.

"The meeting with the minister, receiving guests as usual, and also the groundbreaking of several incoming investors," he said.

President Joko Widodo is scheduled to have an office in IKN for approximately 40 days from September 11 to October 19, 2024, or until one day before the inauguration of the Elected President and Vice President.

The President is also scheduled to hold a Plenary Cabinet Session at the IKN Presidential Palace, this week.
