Commitment To Advance Gorontalo Pilkada, Warsito Resigns Shortly Before Being Inaugurated As A Member Of The Elected DPRD

JAKARTA - One of the 45 members of the Gorontalo Provincial DPRD elected for the 2024-2029 period named Warsito Somawiyono was not willing to be sworn in. Warsito declared his resignation shortly before the inauguration in Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province, Monday 9 September.

Warsito chose to resign because he was committed to participating in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in Gorontalo Regency.

Warsito Somawiyono interrupted the announcement of DPRD members read out by the Secretary of the Council Sudarman Samad. The incumbent legislative member of the Golkar Party said that he was not willing to take an oath/promise and openly submit his resignation.

"I have conveyed my resignation in accordance with the nomination stage. So that today I would like to convey it at the Plenary Meeting forum, then to the Deputy Chairperson of the High Court that on this occasion I stated that I was not willing to be inaugurated and would not be willing to take an appointment as previously dismissed, said Warsito, confiscated by Antara.

Warsito has submitted his resignation as a member of the DPRD who will be inaugurated. Even so, his name did not have time to be processed before the Decree from the Ministry of Home Affairs left. Warsito chose to take part in the regional head election as a candidate for Deputy Regent of Gorontalo Regency.

Deputy Chairman of the DPRD Kris Wartabone who chaired the plenary session accepted the resignation. He respected Warsito's choice and left it to the supporting political parties to make Inter-Time Substitutions (PAW).

A total of 44 members of the Regional People's Representative Council of Gorontalo Province for the 2024-2029 period were officially inaugurated, and started with a plenary meeting with the agenda of taking the oath led by the Chairman of the DPRD for the previous period.
