Daihatsu Sigra Driver Beaten By A Group Of Men In Gambir, Damaged Car Hits Face

JAKARTA - Another act of thuggery took place in the Gambir area, Central Jakarta. A group of motorized men ganged up on a silver Daihatsu Sigra car driver because a vehicle had collided on Jalan Suryopranoto, Cideng Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

The incident was recorded by the residents' amateur cameras. In the video footage circulating, there was a tense situation when there was a beating on the streets. Moreover, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 8, at around 02.45 WIB.

The incident was also uploaded to an Instagram social media account. In the upload contains a caption that the husband of a woman with the initials I became a victim of car beatings and vandalism.

"My husband was surrounded by an 'ambon' on Jalan Suryopranoto, Cideng, Central Jakarta. He was beaten and damaged by a car. There were about 10 perpetrators and their husbands had videos (of the perpetrator's face)," wrote the caption as quoted by VOI, Monday, September 9.

I told that the incident began when her husband drove from the direction of Cideng and stopped at TL Cideng.

"There was a car to the right. After the car passed, my husband's car passed and suddenly a Beat motorbike from the left was speeding. The husband was shocked, hit the back of the motorbike. A verbal altercation occurred," he said.

After the car driver pulled over the vehicle to take responsibility. The driver immediately opened the car door and was about to get off.

"Suddenly a friend's motorbike (the perpetrator) came from behind, immediately pulled my husband's nose up to 2 times and bleeding," he wrote.

Then the other perpetrators returned to the victim about 10 people.

"Her friends are 10. And 1 woman, my husband immediately saved himself in the car. They wanted my husband to get out of the car but my husband didn't dare because there were a lot of them, while my husband was in the car himself. There was a car vandalism right away," he wrote.

I admitted that the incident experienced by her husband had been reported to the Gambir Metro Police in the hope that the perpetrators would be arrested by the police.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gambir Metro Police, AKP Ganang Agung, has not been confirmed regarding the incident in his area.
