Police Arrest Dozens Of Teenagers With Sajam Brawl Perpetrators

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police Precision Pioneer Patrol Team managed to thwart a brawl that occurred in three different locations in Kembangan and Cengkareng sub-districts, West Jakarta on Sunday, September 8.

A total of 11 teenage brawlers were arrested from three different areas along with a number of sharp samurai 2-barreled weapons, 1 sickle, 1 bow and 1 machete.

In addition, the police also arrested 3 teenagers who were drunk with synthetic marijuana and confiscated 3 bags of red wine from the teenagers.

Head of Samapta Polres Metro West Jakarta, AKBP M Hari Agung Julianto, stated that the teenagers were secured in three different locations. The first arrests were made on Jalan Kampung Baru, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

"There were 3 teenagers equipped with 1 samurai blades that were secured, it is suspected that they will join the brawl," he said when confirmed, Sunday, September 8.

Not far from the first location, the police also arrested 3 other teenagers suspected of using synthetic drugs.

"We also found 2 bags of red wine as evidence," he said.

For further processing, the teenagers were handed over to the Kembangan Police to undergo further investigation. Then the police resumed patrols and arrested 3 teenagers armed with sharp sickles and arrows on Jalan Cemara Raya, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

These teenagers are strongly suspected of being involved in a similar brawl in the area. The perpetrators were also arrested and carried out another search. Then the police again arrested 5 teenagers in the RT 12/07 area, West Cengkareng. From this arrest, the police also confiscated a machete as evidence that was suspected of being used for clashes.

AKBP M Hari Agung said all teenagers involved had been handed over to the Kembangan Police and Cengkareng Police to undergo further investigation.

"We also appeal to the public, especially parents, to pay more attention to their children's activities to prevent them from engaging in dangerous activities like this," he said.
