KPK Reveals Public Reports About Bobby Nasution Riding A Private Jet

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that there were complaints from the public regarding the use of private jets by the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution. It is suspected that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) son-in-law received facilities or gratuities.

"Whenever (there is a report coming in, ed) I can't open it. However, the information we got was (complaint, ed)," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, September 6.

Tessa said this complaint had entered the review stage. Those who conveyed it would later be clarified.

"The reporting party will be summoned later, will be clarified and there is a possibility that other parties will be clarified as well," he said.

"But who will be clarified and when it is I cannot assume. Because in principle, reporting and handling cases at the investigation level are confidential," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

In the future, Tessa explained, the process of investigating the private jet will be focused through public complaints or through the Directorate of Public Service and Complaints (PLPM) of the KPK. Meanwhile, the Gratification Directorate, which has moved first, will coordinate to convey its findings.

"Then can't BN brother if he has said that he is willing to clarify? Yes, we welcome him," he said.

Bobby can clarify through the KPK website or present directly. "So if the person concerned has the intention to clarify, of course go ahead," he said.

Previously reported, a photo of President Joko Widodo's son-in-law (Jokowi) who is also the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution allegedly boarded a private jet uploaded by the X account, @MultadhaOne1 on Wednesday, August 28. One of them shows him walking on the apron with the background of a private plane parked behind him.

In his upload, this account states that Bobby Nasution and his family also board private jets that are suspected to belong to other parties. "Is this a gratification or not @KPK_RI?" he asked.

The netizen then said the photo was taken around February 18-20, 2023 at Polonia Airport, which has now changed its name.
