Not Just Salaries, All Nurul Ghufron's Income Turns Out To Be Cut 20 Percent

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that all income of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, was cut after being declared to have violated ethics. The cuts were carried out as much as 20 percent for six months.

"There are a lot of income. So it's not just salaries. Here there is income. That's a lot of income. Basic salary, job allowances. This is all income," said Chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean at a press conference at the ACLC KPK building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Friday, September 6.

Even so, Tumpak admitted that he did not know very well how much. "Later you will ask the secretary general. It is the Secretary General who knows that, how much does a leader earn at the KPK. This is official income, yes. Not an unofficial one," he said.

The Secretary General of the KPK, continued Tumpak, will arrange the mechanism later. "Please ask. Cut 20 percent who cut who, later the secretary general will cut. Well, this is six months. He may no longer be bait, yes, never mind. If no one else wants to say anything," said the former KPK commissioner.

As previously reported, the KPK Supervisory Board stated that Nurul Ghufron as Deputy Chair of the KPK violated ethics. He was then given moderate sanctions.

Ghufron was sentenced to moderate sanctions in the form of a written warning by the KPK Supervisory Board for violating Article 4 paragraph 2 letter a of Perdewas Number 3 of 2021. His income was also cut by 20 percent for six months.

The KPK Supervisory Board said that Ghufron was decided to violate ethics related to the abuse of influence or position behind the mutation of the ASN Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) named Andi Dwi Mandasari (ADM). He used his influence to contact Kasdi Subagyono as Secretary General and concurrently Acting Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture.

"Ghufron wants ADM, who is an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture's Inspectorate II, to be transferred to the Center for Agricultural Technology Assessment and Development in Malang," said the KPK Council. Meanwhile, when clarified, the employee admitted that he never asked.

The communication with the Ministry of Agriculture was carried out in conjunction with an investigation into the alleged procurement of cattle at the Ministry of Agriculture which is being handled by the KPK which allegedly involved members of the DPR RI.
