JAKARTA - Candidate for Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno asked for support from the Betawi Rempug Forum (FBR) to win the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. This was conveyed by Rano Karno during a visit to the residence of the General Chairperson of FBR throughout Jabodetabek, KH Lutfi Hakim in Ujung Menteng Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, today. Rano Karno, who had known Kiai Luthfi for a long time, admitted that he planned to stay in touch with Kiai Lutfi's residence. "Previously, I called Mr. Kiai, I want to stay in touch. Mr. Kiai said, yes, you've already done Doel Friday, you eat jengkol," said Rano as quoted by Antara, Jumar, September 6. Rano also asked for Kiai Lutfi's help, who is currently running as a candidate for deputy governor of Jakarta. "I said that I'm assigned to the village now, help me. Pak Kiai said, yes, I'll help you, but I don't promise. That's right, that's why I'm busy," he said. The man who is usually called Bang Doel admitted that he shared his duties with the candidate for governor Pramono Anung to greet the people of Jakarta considering that the Jakarta area is very wide. "Today, Mas Pramono went to another place, so I came here. I was forced to share tasks because Jakarta is arguably broad, the most problematic problem for us is tight time," he said. Therefore, Bang Doel admitted that he could not visit the village one by one considering the tight timing of the Pilkada, namely November 27, 2024. "We went to the village where we thought we lost (small votes), so we went to it so we could win," he said. Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of FBR throughout Jabodetabek, KH Lutfi Hakim, said that his party had not been able to convey support to the Pramono-Rano Karno pair because the FBR had a mechanism. However, he hopes that Rano Karno can carry the aspirations of the Betawi people because later Jakarta will no longer be the State Capital (IKN). "So in the past, it was always on the pretext that the capital city was so that the rights of the Betawi people were put aside," he said.

Therefore, after Jakarta is no longer the capital city, it is hoped that the rights of the Betawi people as the core community of Jakarta will be considered. "Especially encouraging the immediate regional regulation of Betawi Cultural Indigenous Institutions and Advancement," he said.
