Palace: Pramono Anung Proposes Resignation As Of September 22

JAKARTA - Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana said Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung had submitted his resignation to President Joko Widodo, for his steps to run as a candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta, in the 2024 Pilkada. "Mr. President has received a letter from Mr. Pramono Anung dated September 2, 2024, which states that he has submitted a request for resignation from the Cabinet Secretary's Office, starting from September 22, 2024," said Ari Dwipayana in a short message in Jakarta, Friday. He said, because the letter submitted by Pramono Anung to the President stated that the resignation application starting on September 22, 2024, the signing of the Presidential Decree on dismissal as Seskab would be in accordance with the request. "In principle, the President will agree. He respects the political rights of ministers or ministerial-level officials to nominate themselves as candidates for regional head," he explained. As for Pramono, the cabinet ranks who are also advancing in the Pilkada are Tri Rismaharini who is the Minister of Social Affairs.

The President has approved Risma's resignation application. He was replaced by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy who served as Acting Minister of Social Affairs.
