Presidential Position Until October, Jokowi Says Goodbye To Surabaya Residents

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said goodbye to the community during a working visit (kunker) at Soponyono Market, Rungkut, Surabaya, on Friday, September 6, 2024.

Jokowi told residents that he would soon retire as president of the Republic of Indonesia in October.

"Yes, this is when I meet the community, yes, I will say goodbye because next month it will be retired," said Jokowi when interviewed by reporters on the sidelines of a market review.

When asked about the response of the community, Jokowi imitated the answer of the residents who welcomed his goodbye with an apology in Javanese.

"Nggih, nyewun ngapunten, nggih," said Jokowi while imitating the residents' response.

It is known that Jokowi's term as President of the Republic of Indonesia will end on October 20, 2024. Prabowo Subianto will continue the baton of leadership as president for the period 2024-2029.

Jokowi's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka will be inaugurated as vice president for the 2024-2029 period replacing KH Ma'ruf Amin.
