Wooden Warehouse Burns In Duren Sawit, A Furniture Production Site For Exhibition

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-Department officers are still extinguishing the fire in a wooden storage warehouse on Jalan H. Dogol, Pondok Bambu Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, on fire on Wednesday, September 4, evening.

It was later discovered that the warehouse contained furniture for exhibitions. The fire, which was suspected of having an electrical short at one of the power poles, occurred at around 18.30 WIB.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. officers who came to the fire site were still struggling to extinguish the fire that scorched the warehouse containing flammable materials.

"It's still in the process of being extinguished," the officer told reporters, Wednesday, September 4.

Meanwhile, according to one of the eyewitnesses, Sifa said the fire started from electricity which was suspected of having friction in the power cable above the warehouse.

"There was a friction of the cable, then the spark fell down to the warehouse containing flammable materials such as wood. I tried to extinguish the fire, but the fire quickly grew," he said.

According to him, there were no casualties in the fire incident.

Previously, it was reported that a wooden storage warehouse on Jalan H. Dogol, Pondok Bambu Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, was burned to the ground on Wednesday, September 4, evening. The fire broke out since 18.30 WIB and until now it continues to grow.

A total of 17 fire engines were deployed to the location to extinguish the fire. 89 firefighters at the location are still in the process of extinguishing the fire.
