2 Perpetrators Who Embezzled 19 Cars In Bandarlampung The Mode Of Rental In Rental

Bandarlampung Police managed to uncover two perpetrators of a car embezzlement syndicate by renting and then pawning it again. "The two perpetrators are two syndicates with the same mode of pawning the car they have rented from the victim," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bandar Lampung Police, Kompol Mukhammad Hendrik Apriliyanto at the Bandarlampung Police Headquarters, Antara, Wednesday, September 4. He mentioned that the two perpetrators who were arrested were named Hari Yusuf (45) a resident of Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Rajabasa, Bandarlampung and Yuan Sugianto alias Iwan (45) a resident of All Miders, Tanjung Karang Barat. "Based on the information of the two perpetrators. Hari Yusuf admitted that he had pawned 16 rental cars and the Yuan perpetrators had pawned three cars. So a total of 19 units of cars were rented, they pawned them," he said. Hendrik said that as a result of the confessions of the two suspects, the car mortgage money was used for their daily economic needs. "The two perpetrators were arrested on August 24, 2024 in different locations in the Bandarlampung city area. Then they also pawned the rental car which was still around Lampung Province," he said. The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bandarlampung Police also said that the officers managed to secure evidence in the form of nine units of cars of various brands from the perpetrator Hari and 3 units of cars of various brands from the perpetrator Yuan alias Iwan, then four receipts for vehicle rental, two original BPKB, five leasing certificates, two rental contract implementers, and a credit financing application file.

"For his actions, the perpetrator Hari was charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code and Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning fraud and embezzlement with a maximum penalty of 4 years. Meanwhile, the perpetrator Yuan alias Iwan was charged with Article 372 of the Criminal Code regarding embezzlement of the threat of a maximum sentence of 4 years and Article 35 of Law No. 42 of 1999, "he said.
