KPK Please Prabowo Subianto Committed To Eradicating Corruption

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appreciates the steps taken by the elected president, Prabowo Subianto, who claims to increase the budget for eradicating corruption. It is hoped that this statement will actually be realized to prove its commitment

"We hope that Mr. Prabowo Subianto has a strong commitment to eradicating corruption during his leadership," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted Wednesday, September 4.

"We view this statement as his intention to create a better Indonesia free of corruption," he continued.

Previously, Prabowo Subianto as the elected president said he would prepare a special budget in his government to be used to pursue corruption perpetrators. In fact, he is ready to create special forces to look for corruptors.

"Maybe I will re-check the budget. I will set aside a special budget for eradicating and pursuing these corruptors. Even if he (the corruptor, ed) runs to Antarctica, I will send special forces to find them in Antarctica," Prabowo said in a speech closing the Gerindra Party Rapimnas at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, August 31.

Prabowo claims to be determined to carry out his plan. This is because corruption has been a serious problem in the country so far.

"All indicators show that we are on the verge of extraordinary revival. The key is that we must reduce corruption. If we can, we will finish corruption in a short time, at least we will suppress, reduce, reduce, and reduce. We will not compromise with corruption," said the chairman of the Gerindra Party.
