Prosecutor Summons 11 Witnesses In Trial Of COVID-19 Social Assistance Bribery Case

JAKARTA - The public prosecutor (JPU) at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will present 11 witnesses in the trial for alleged bribery for the provision of COVID-19 social assistance (bansos) for the defendants Harry Van Sidabukke and Ardian Iskandar Maddanatja.

The KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said the witnesses for the defendant Harry Van Sidabukke are 6 people. One of them is the Operational Director (DirOps) of PT Pertani, Lalan Sukmaya.

Meanwhile for the other five witnesses, namely, Director of PT Tigapilar Agro Utama Wan Guntar, Manager of PT Pertani Muslih, President Director of PT Agri Tekh Sejahtera Lucky Galian Setiabudi, Selvy Nurbaety, and Ministry of Social Affairs official driver Matheus Joko Santoso namely Sanjaya.

"The witnesses (6 people) for the trial of the defendant Harry Van Sidabukke will be called at 10.00 a.m. local time", Ali Fikri said in his statement, Monday, March 29.

Meanwhile, there were also 5 witnesses for the defendant Ardian Iskandar Maddanatja. They are the broker of PT Tigapilar, Nuzulian Nasution, Indah Budi Safitri as the wife of the defendant, staff of PT Tigapilar Agro Utama Imanuel Tarigan, and two private parties Isro Budi Nauli and Helmi Rivai.

"The examination was carried out differently. First, the witnesses were for the accused Harry Van Sidabukke. Then the defendant was for Ardian Iskandar Maddanatja", he said.

In this case, the defendant Harry van Sidabukke was a private party accused of bribing Juliari and a number of officials at the Ministry of Social Affairs with a total value of IDR 1.28 billion.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Tigapilar Agro Utama Ardian Iskandar Maddanatja was charged with giving IDR 1.95 billion to Juliari and a number of officials at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The bribery was carried out so that the two defendants were appointed as providers of COVID-19 social assistance to the Ministry of Social Affairs in 2020.
