JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has prepared traffic engineering (traffic) upon the arrival of Catholic leader Sri Pope Francis to Indonesia, Tuesday, September 3.

"Tomorrow arrivals at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, we will go to the Vatican Ambassador who is around Jalan Merdeka Utara," said Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters at Polda Metro Jaya, Monday, September 2.

Latif also said that the visit of Sri Pope Francis was not just an aatory trip. However, he also visited the state of Indonesia in September 2024.

"Of course, all routes that will be crossed by the Pope are clear, so on the road that will go to the same path, of course we will carry out temporary closures," he said.

However, this traffic engineering will be situational. Later when Pope Francis arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport, sterilization was immediately applied to a radius of 1 kilometer (Km).

"But this is situational in nature, so when the Pope informed him that he had landed at the airport, the route started from Soekarno Hatta Toll Road Sediatmo, Inner City Toll Road, the Sudirman-Thamrin route to the Vatican Ambassador, we will clear it, namely when the Pope approaches about a radius of 1 kilometer, we have done it clear rather than all existing vehicles.
