3 Curanmor Recidivists On The West Coast Arrested, 2 Forced To Be Shot By Police For Fighting

West Coast Police Satreskrim personnel, Lampung Police, managed to arrest three recidivist West Coast motor vehicle theft (curanmor). Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Coast Police, Iptu Algy Ferlyando Seiranausa, confirmed the arrests of the perpetrators as a result of the development of the theft case that occurred last Thursday. "Yes, that's right, we have arrested three perpetrators of theft of a motorcycle with the initials KT (17) Pekon Address (Village) Pakun Gara Pesisir Selatan District, ES (21) and NR (26) Pekon Gunung Kemala Address, Way Krui District," he said when contacted from South Lampung, Antara, Monday, September 2. The theft occurred on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at around 21.15 WIB when the FS victim parked his motorbike in front of his house in Pekon Ulu Krui, Way Krui District. "Then at around 05.00 the victim was about to go to the market and found that the motorbike had disappeared, then the victim reported the incident to the central Coast Police," he said. After receiving a report, the police conducted a series of investigations and received information from the public that the perpetrator and the motorcycle stolen were at Pekon Pakun Gara. "On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at around 22.00 WIB, the team involved 308 West Coast Police and the central Coast Police went straight to the location and managed to secure the perpetrators of KT (17) along with the stolen motorbikes," he said. According to him, during the initial interrogation, the KT perpetrator admitted that he had committed the theft along with two other colleagues, namely the perpetrators of ES and NR. "The police immediately carried out developments and according to the information from the perpetrators of KT, his two colleagues were at Pekon Gunung Kemala," he said. Then, Algy said, at the time of the arrest at the location, the ES and NR perpetrators resisted so that the police took decisive action measuredly to paralyze the two perpetrators with hot lead which resulted in the two perpetrators suffering a gunshot wound to their respective calf.

"The three perpetrators along with evidence were taken to the central coastal police for further investigation. The evidence that was secured included 1 unit of the Yamaha MIO M3 motorcycle in Red and Black in 2015, Nopol BE 7088 X (The result of the theft) and 1 unit of a silver and black Supra X motorcycle belonging to the perpetrator who was used during the theft," he said. As a result of their actions, the three perpetrators were snared under Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 9 years in prison.
