Viral: Mercy Cars Block Fire Cars In Bali, Even Though They Have Been Honked Many Times

DENPASAR - The video of a Mercedes Benz car that appears to be blocking the pace of the BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) fire trucks in Denpasar Bali has gone viral on social media.

In the video, officers can be heard screaming for the vehicle in front of the fire engine to pull over to give speed.

The clerk turned on the siren and shouted to pull over. However, the car still drove in front of the fire truck.

Furthermore, at the end of the video, the fire trucks overtook the Mercy car. The video, initially uploaded by the TikTok @purwanayana account, was later viral on Instagram. The account also provides a description of the car blocking officers who are racing against time.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Denpasar Police, Police Commissioner Taufan Rizaldi, said that his party was still checking the virality of the video.

"I want to cross-check first, where is the fire department and we don't know the chronology", said Taufan when contacted Monday, March 29.

He emphasized that based on Law 7 priority vehicles must be prioritized by the community while carrying out their duties.

"Like an ambulance coming to a sick person, you have to hurry so that the person is safe, as well as a fire engine, a motorcade of the Indonesian National Police. There are 7 priority vehicles by the law", he said.

"If there is a reason we will act. Because especially if the fire extinguishes the fire is already big. If it does go through the road, please give priority to other vehicles pulling over the vehicle because it has its interests", said Taufan.

Separately confirmed, the Secretary of the Denpasar City BPBD, Ardy Ganggas, said that the incident occurred on Sunday, March 28.

At that time, Denpasar City BPBD firefighters were about to extinguish the fire at the house owned by Made Widia, in Pemogan, South Denpasar. The fire truck was driven by I Gusti Putu Adi Sukarya and the navigator Putra Perbawa.
