H-4 Mass Pope Francis At GBK, 7 Parking Bags For 1,510 Buses Prepared

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has prepared parking bags to TransJakarta services during the grand mass of Pope Francis at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) on Thursday 5 September.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo said this preparation was to make it easier for congregants who wanted to visit GBK.

"We have prepared seven locations of parking bags with a total capacity of 1,510 buses to support the activities of the Pope Francis Mass at GBK," said when confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday, September 1, as quoted by Antara.

The following is the location of the parking bag prepared by the Transportation Agency:

1. The RNI/Aldiron parking bag houses 300 buses; 2. Smesco Indonesia parking bag accommodates 50 buses;3. The Kemayoran PPK parking bag holds 550 buses;4. The Purna Bakti Museum parking bag accommodates 200 buses;5. Catur Pratama Mandiri/PPD parking bag accommodates 100 buses;6. The TJ Cawang Pool parking bag accommodates 200 buses;7. The TJ Kampung Rambutan parking bag accommodates 110 buses.

The TransJakarta services around the Gelora Bung Karno area amounted to 387 units with a total operating 351 units while the remaining 36 units were in reserve.

A total of 351 units consist of integrated public transportation service categories, namely Palmerah Station - Dukuh Atas Transport Hub (9 units), Palmerah Station - Senayan Roundabout (6 units), Tanah Abang - Blok M (12 units), Senen - Blok M (17 units), Pemuda Merdeka - Senayan Roundabout (19 units), Tebet Station - Senayan Roundabout (8 units), Manggarai Station - Blok M (16 units), and Kebayoran Lama - Petamburan (5 units).

Then the BRT bus stop routes around Gelora Bung Karno are Blok M - Kota (78 units), Pinang Ranti - Pluit (63 units), Tanjung Priok - Senayan Roundabout (25 units), Kalideres - Senayan Bank DKI (24 units), Ragunan - Senayan Bank DKI (11 units), Cililitan - Grogol (24 units), Pinang Ranti - Senayan Roundabout (20 units), Blok M - Kota (7 units), and Pinang Ranti - Pluit (7 units).

Previously, PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) provided services for both officers and fleets until the evening during the Pope Francis Grand Mass at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta on Thursday, September 5.

"If customers are still piling up until 22.00 WIB, then we can add service hours until 00.00 WIB as needed," said TransJakarta Operations and Safety Director Daud Joseph in his statement in Jakarta, Friday, August 30.

Pope Francis is scheduled to travel avertholics to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, and Singapore on September 2-13, 2024.

Indonesia became the first country in a series of visits by Pope Francis to the Asia Pacific region, namely from 3 to 6 September 2024.

Then the Pope continued his visit to Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) and Vanimo from 6-9 September 2024, Dili (Timor Leste) from 9-11 September 2024, and Singapore from 11-13 September 2024.

Pope Francis is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on September 3, 2024 at noon. Then, the next day or September 4, 2024, the leader of the Catholics is scheduled to meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

Then, on September 5, 2024 Pope Francis is scheduled to attend an interfaith meeting at the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, and continue with meetings with beneficiaries of charitable organizations at the Indonesian Bishops' Conference Office.
