Quoting The IKN Project To Prabowo, Jokowi: This Nation Doesn't Run Out Of Time Just To Change Direction

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has entrusted the sustainability of industrial downstreaming to the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) development project in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) to Prabowo Subianto after being inaugurated as President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029.

Jokowi emphasized that the sustainability of the people's program, be it the sustainability of infrastructure development and human resources (HR), is very important.

"Whether it is the continuation of industrial downstream, IKN, or the green economy," Jokowi said in his remarks while attending the cadre rally and closing the Gerindra Party National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, August 31 evening.

With sustainability, Jokowi continued, energy and time will not run out because the current government has many people's programs in supporting welfare.

"That way this nation will not run out of time, the resources will not run out, the energy will not run out just to change course, only to change the program for every leadership," said Jokowi.

Previously, Prabowo emphasized that the IKN development would definitely be completed.

This was conveyed by Prabowo in response to the continuation of IKN development during his future government.

"Oh, it must be resolved," said Prabowo in a press statement with President Joko Widodo at IKN, East Kalimantan, Monday, August 12.

Although the IKN development outline plan is projected to be completed for a dozen years to several decades, Prabowo is optimistic that within 4-5 years IKN will be able to function very well.

"We also must not force it. However, if I am optimistic, in 4-5 years I think it will work very well, in my opinion, yes. I am not an engineering expert, but I see the potential, I see, I am sure 5'6 years will be good, will be finished," said Prabowo.
