Thousands Of Students In Duren Sawit Follow The Archipelago Cultural Carnival At The Peak Of The 79th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration

JAKARTA - Thousands of joint students ranging from the junior high, high and vocational levels of BPS&K 2 Jakarta held a cultural carnival in the peak of the celebration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta today.

This Carnival was attended by thousands of students from BPS&K Duren Sawit school. The carnival participants combine the spirit of nationalism and diversity that has been carefully conceptualized.

The reason is, these carnival participants are willing to wear the cosplay clothes of figures - independence fighters with full character. Various theatrical stories of the struggle for independence were also demonstrated in the carnival.

Thousands of students in various traditional clothes also participated in the carnival to celebrate the peak of Indonesian independence day. Even those who are no less interesting, there are clothes made of various plastic waste and worn as dresses by a number of carnival participants.

The existence of the ogoh - ogoh Hanoman Bali statue which was also paraded in the carnival between students was also in the spotlight of the residents.

The carnival started on Saturday morning at around 07.00 WIB and finished at 11.00 WIB. The Carnival, which was attended by thousands of school students, was divided into several groups per class. The group has different themes.

"This event has an assessment from the school. For the group that won 1st place, they will get a coaching prize worth Rp. 10 million," said Head of the BPS&K 2 Jakarta Foundation, Tri Ratmoko, to reporters at the location, Saturday, August 31.

The students who took part in the carnival looked very enthusiastic. They also carried out a long march of 6 kilometers starting from BPS&K 2 Jakarta school, Jalan Bina Karya, Jalan H. Miran, the Malacca Sari floodgate, Jalan Raden Inten, Jalan Bojong Indah and back to school again.

"A total of 2680 participants from joint junior high, high school and vocational students and teachers participated in this year's independence celebration carnival. This student carnival activity is carried out every year," he said.

This carnival activity is expected to be a means of education about the cultural heritage of the Indonesian nation and love the homeland. Local residents and passing motorists also witnessed the cultural carnival action of the archipelago which was attended by thousands of school students.
