The PDI-P has decided to bring Ono Surono to register for the West Java gubernatorial election with the KPU. This last-minute registration was made after the political dynamics related to Anies Baswedan's name, which was initially pushed forward for the West Java gubernatorial election.

Ono Surono was seen arriving at the KPU building, West Java, Bandung at around 23.30 WIB, Thursday, August 29. Ono was seen with his cawagub entering the registration room for the West Java gubernatorial election.

As previously reported, Anies Baswedan decided not to run as a candidate for Governor of West Java. This answers questions about the news that Anies was offered the West Java gubernatorial election by the PDI-P (PDIP).

Anies' spokesman, Sahrin Hamid, said that the reason Anies decided not to participate in the 2024 Pilkada contestation in West Java was because there were no aspirations from the people of West Java themselves.

"Indeed, West Java does not specifically have partnerships from community members or aspirations from political parties at the regional level or at the regional level," said Sahrin when met at Jalan Brawijaya X, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 29.

So far, Anies' request to run for the 2024 Pilkada is only in the DKI Jakarta area. According to Sahrin, this aspiration has been revealed by many Jakarta residents, to regional party officials who have previously proposed his name.

"With various considerations, of course, Mas Anies decided not to run in West Java. God willing, tomorrow there will be a special delivery for the needs of the community or the public," said Sahrin.
