Spokesperson For Anies And PDIP Claims Not Disappointed To Cancel The Jakarta And West Java Gubernatorial Elections

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan decided not to run as a candidate for Governor of West Java (West Java). He rejected the offer from the PDI-P (PDIP) to run in West Java, after previously canceling carrying Anies in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Anies' spokesman, Sahrin Hamid, claimed that Anies and PDIP had no disappointment regarding the cancellation of their candidacy in Jakarta and West Java.

"Oh no (there is disappointment). We have a very good relationship with PDIP. Mas Anies and PDIP have very deep communication," said Sahrin when met at Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 29.

Since Anies' meeting with Rano Karno at the PDIP DPP Office before the registration of the regional elections on Monday, August 26 until now, Sahrin claims that the relationship between the two parties is still good. Anies and PDIP also have the same views in various ways.

"Our hope is of course that this collaboration is not only in the regional elections, more than that we want that nationalism, as well as religion, religion, this goes hand in hand. We hope that how Indonesia is in accordance with the ideals of independence, realizing a just, prosperous, united society, this is an ideal," he explained.

Sahrin explained the reason Anies decided not to participate in the 2024 Pilkada contestation in West Java because there was no aspiration from the people of West Java to support the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.

"Indeed, West Java does not specifically have partnerships from community members or aspirations from political parties at the regional level or at the regional level," explained Syahrin.

So far, Anies' request to run for the 2024 Pilkada is only in the DKI Jakarta area. According to Sahrin, this aspiration has been revealed by many Jakarta residents, to regional party officials who have previously proposed his name.

"With various considerations, of course, Mas Anies decided not to run in West Java. God willing, tomorrow there will be a special delivery for the needs of the community or the public," said Sahrin.
