Ojol And The Demo Courier At The Palace, Transjakarta Operates Reserve Buses

PT Transjakarta has prepared spare buses to support the mobility needs of the community in anticipation of online motorcycle taxi demonstrations (ojol) and couriers in the Palace area and Horse Statue today.

"We still have 10 percent fleet reserves. We usually use it for maintenance and repair, maintenance at the workshop. But with conditions like this we will issue it," said Transjakarta Operations and Safety Director Daud Joseph in his statement, Thursday, August 29.

With this 10 percent reserve, it is hoped that the vacancy related to transportation services can be handled properly. Transjakarta will also delay the implementation of SPLIT or bus deposition after it is past peak hours in the morning.

"At peak hours, usually at 09.00 - 16.00 WIB we return the buses (SPLIT). If the expressing of opinion takes place at those hours, of course we will not delay the SPLIT to ensure that services remain available," said Joseph.

In addition, Transjakarta will also accelerate the arrival time of the bus (headway) to minimize the buildup of customers at the bus stop.

"Transjakarta community services must stand by under any conditions, especially if other providers do not serve, it is our responsibility to provide more than usual," he explained.

The online motorcycle taxi community (ojol) and couriers throughout Jabodetabek will hold an action with the action route of the Merdeka Palace, the Gojek office around the Petojo area, Central Jakarta and the Grab office around Cilandak, South Jakarta.

The action will be followed by around 500-1,000 ojol drivers from various communities in Jabodetabek. This action was carried out to demand the welfare of ojol drivers who are increasingly depressed by application companies and at the same time ask the government to pay attention to ojol drivers and couriers.

The reason is, the partners of online transportation application companies are currently illegal without a legal standing in the form of a law.

Ojol drivers assess that with the absence of legal standing for ojol drivers, application companies can do arbitrarily without any solutions from the platform and without being given strict sanctions by the government.

Chairman of the Two-wheeled Transportation Drivers Association Igun Wicaksono appealed to the public not to order ojol in the area around Medan Merdeka, Central Jakarta during the ojol and courier actions throughout Jabodetabek held Thursday, August 29 afternoon.

"The action will be carried out around 12.00 WIB until it is finished or at 17.00 WIB, please users of ojol and courier services around the location of the action in the Medan Merdeka Street area and its surroundings while not making an order first," he said when contacted in Jakarta, Thursday, August 29.

He added that the actions that will be carried out at three points, namely the Merdeka Palace, the Gojek office around the Petojo area, Central Jakarta and the Grab office around Cilandak, South Jakarta, will likely make it difficult for service users to order (order). Especially when the action starts Thursday afternoon at the Merdeka Palace.

Therefore, Igun appealed to service users to order two hours before the action or a maximum of 10.00 WIB.

"Please if you want an order to use ojol services to be carried out two hours before the action, which is a maximum of 10.00 WIB," he said.
