Marshel Withdraws From The 2024 South Tangerang Pilwalkot: Sad Or Not, Disappointed Or Not

TANGERANG - Komika Marshel Widianto revealed the reason for withdrawing from the fight to become a candidate for deputy mayor of South Tangerang.

"Indeed, Bang Ariza has received a special task from the party and indeed we have discussed this personally," said Marshel Widianto, quoted from the YouTube channel, Wednesday, August 28.

Marshel Widianto denied that he was disappointed with the Gerindra Party's decision to withdraw from the South Tangerang regional head election.

"If you say I'm sad, it's not, you say I'm disappointed either. Because for me, this has to be done, especially when dynamic things like this often happen in politics, whatever happens we stay in line," he said.

Cesen's ex-JKT48 husband said that the experience of politics in South Tangerang was valuable in his life.

"As long as I was a party cadre, of course I didn't lose it," he said.

Previously, Ahmad Riza Patria and Marshel Widianto decided to resign before registering as candidates for mayor and candidate for deputy mayor of South Tangerang (Tangsel) in the 2024 Pilkada.

Ahmad Riza Patria, who is also the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party, admitted that he had other duties from the party. However, he did not reveal in detail what task was meant.

"I got another task, a special task from the party. That's why I resigned, yes," said Riza when met at the DKI Jakarta KPU Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, yesterday.

After deciding to resign, several parties shifted their support. One of them came from the Democratic Party.

Democratic Party politician Hasbil Mustaqim Lubis said Riza Patria's resignation as a candidate for mayor (cawalkot) of South Tangerang made the Democratic Party and Gerindra Party shift support. The two parties have now handed over support to the pair Benyamin Davni-Pilar Saga Ichsan.

"The Democratic Party finally supported Benyamin Davni-Pilar Saga Ichsan. The Gerindra Party is also the same, transferring its support to Benjamin-Pilar," said Hasbil.
