Cagub Andika Perkasa: The One Who Determines The People Of Central Java

The candidate for Governor of Central Java Andika Perkasa fully left a political choice in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) to the people of Central Java.

"I have never spoken or conveyed that we are sure that we were elected, because for me, the one who determines later is the people of Central Java," he said, in Semarang as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 28.

This was conveyed by the former TNI Commander on the sidelines of the "Declaration of the Alumni of Central Java High School Perkasa" which was held by a number of elements and volunteers.

Andika ran as a candidate for Governor of Central Java paired with Hendrar Prihadi (Hendi) who became his deputy in the 2024 Central Java Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub).

"So, it was the people of Central Java who decided after they saw the vision and mission, programs, and ideas conveyed by the candidates for governor and deputy governor," he said.

The retired four-star general only tried and tried his best to work with the supporting political parties and volunteers to win the election contestation.

"So really I don't want to set or confirm anything. We just want to try together with all volunteers and supporting political parties in the nomination of governors and deputy governors," he said.

"However, we still believe that the people of Central Java will determine," said the son-in-law of the former Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), General TNI (Ret.) AM Hendropriyono.

The Andika-Hendi pair promoted by the PDI-P have registered as candidates for governor and deputy governor at the Central Java General Election Commission (KPU).

The arrival of the Andika-Hendi pair to the Central Java KPU, Semarang, Tuesday (27/8), was accompanied by thousands of supporters and sympathizers of the party bearing the bull symbol.

Apart from Andika-Hendi, there is one pair of candidates for governor and other deputy governor of Central Java who also registered, namely Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin Maimoen (Gus Yasin).

The Luthfi-Gus Yasin pair was promoted by a coalition of nine parties, namely the Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, PPP, PAN, PKB, PSI, NasDem Party, PKS, and the Democratic Party.
