Central Java Pilkada, Luthfi-Taj Yasin Pair Registered With 13.7 Votes

Central Java Province KPU recorded that the candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Java Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin Maimoen had 13.7 million valid votes to fight in the 2024 Pilkada.

Central Java Provincial KPU chairman Handi Tri Ujiono said that the valid votes came from nine political parties that were verified by the KPU as the pair's carriers.

The nine parties are each Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, PPP, PAN, PKB, PSI, Nasdem Party, PKS, and Democratic Party.

According to him, the pair Ahmad Lutjfi-Taj Yasin actually proposed 12 coalitions of political parties as the organizers in the 2024 Pilkada.

"However, the three parties did not include a letter of approval from the central board," said Handi, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 28.

The three parties are the Labor Party, the Crescent Star Party, and the Garuda Party.

Handi said that the Central Java Provincial KPU stated that it had received registration for the Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin pair along with the nomination requirements.

In the nomination requirements, he said, a letter of resignation as a member of the National Police has also been attached to Ahmad Luthfi and resigned as a candidate for DPD RI elected for Taj Yasin.

According to him, the couple still had the opportunity to complete the requirements that were less than September 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Luthfi stated that he was ready to carry out the 2024 Pilkada stages after registration today.

"We will follow the KPU provisions so that the election stages run well," he said.

Luthfi continued, "Central Java will be better by 'gongpeni' and 'nglakoni'".
