Golkar Finally Carry Airin-Ade In Banten Gubernatorial Election, PDIP: Nothing To Do, If You Want To Join, Go Ahead

JAKARTA - PDIP's Chief of Honor, Komarudin Watubun, responded to the Golkar Party's decision to finally return to carrying Airin Rachmi Diany-Ade Sumardi as the cagub and cawagub pair in the Banten Pilkada. Komarudin emphasized that Golkar's decision had nothing to do with PDIP. Because, according to him, PDIP had already brought Airin, which was originally not supported by his party to run for the Banten gubernatorial election. "There is no business whether Golkar wants to join or not, no matter who, we will give Airin first. If Golkar wants to join, go ahead," said Komarudin at the parliament complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, August 27. Komarudin did not question Golkar's decision which suddenly supported Airin after the PDIP was announced. The important thing is, he said, PDIP had already given a recommendation to the former South Tangerang Mayor first. "Yes, that's Golkar's business, we have nothing to do with Golkar or not. PDIP has officially nominated Bu Airin from the start," he continued.

Komarudin also doesn't mind if Airin still chooses to become a Golkar cadre even though he is not supported by the banyan party later. Sabab, a PDIP cadre, namely Ade Sumardi, has become his cawagub. "Yes, he wants Golkar or wants PDI Perjuangan, we have nominated the nomination process, that Golkar from behind is involved, go ahead. It's a couple with PDI people in struggle, right," he concluded.
