Bobby Nasution-Surya Register For North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election To KPU Tomorrow

The candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution-Syaya will register with the General Election Commission (KPU) of North Sumatra on Wednesday (28/8) in the 2024 regional head election (Pilkada).

The head of the North Sumatra KPU HR and Research and Development Division, Robby Effendy, confirmed the registration schedule for the number one person in the Medan City Government.

"We have received verbal confirmation from Team Bobby Nasution and tomorrow we will register with the North Sumatra KPU," said Robby Effendy, in Medan, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 27.

However, his party is still waiting for confirmation at what time the Mayor of Medan will arrive at the North Sumatra KPU.

The registration period for the candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra is carried out for three days from August 27 to August 29, 2024.

On the first and second days, the North Sumatra KPU opened registration starting at 08.00 to 16.00 WIB. Meanwhile, on the last day from 08.00 to 23.59 WIB.

Robby explained that on the first day of registration there would be no one candidate pair who registered with the North Sumatra KPU.

"Until this afternoon there will be no candidate pairs who will register at the North Sumatra KPU," said Robby.

The registration period for the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of North Sumatra has also been announced based on Number: 926/PL.02.2-PU/12/2024 concerning Registration of Candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra was signed by the Chairman of the North Sumatra KPU Agus Arifin.

Robby admitted that his party had also prepared registration from the admission procedure, including having communicated with the prospective candidate pair.

"So far there is none. We already have a group with LO. There will be news of their presence," he said.

His party is still waiting for the prospective candidate pair to register at the North Sumatra KPU Office according to the predetermined schedule.

The decision of the North Sumatra KPU Number 134 of 2024 concerning the determination of the minimum requirements for the number of valid votes as a condition for nominating pairs of candidates from political parties or coalitions of political parties in the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra in 2024 decided to get at least 7.5 percent or 551,355 valid votes from the total population of the 2024 General Election, namely 10,853,940 voters.
