KPU Receives Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi Registration For Central Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Central Java Province (Central Java) received the registration of a candidate pair for governor and deputy governor Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi who was promoted by the PDI-P in the 2024 Regional Head Election. The Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi pair came to the Central Java General Election Commission (KPU) Office accompanied by thousands of PDIP supporters and sympathizers. Central Java KPU chairman Handi Tri Ujiono said PDIP was the first political party to register a candidate for regional head. "The KPU received registration of candidate pairs in the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Java on behalf of Andika Perkasa and Hendrar Prihadi," said Handi in Semarang, confiscated by Antara. On that occasion, the Central Java KPU also submitted an introduction letter to Andika-Hendi to undergo a medical test on August 29, 2024. Handi added that the Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi pair was proposed by PDIP to obtain a valid vote in the 2024 General Election of 5.2 million votes. Furthermore, the Central Java KPU will check the validity of the registration requirements which can be completed until September 8, 2024. Meanwhile, the chairman of the Central Java PDIP DPD, Bambang Wuryanto, who could not attend directly during the registration, was clarified online by KPU officers. The politician who is familiarly called Bambang Pacul apologized for not being able to attend in person because he had to carry out his duties in the DPR.

In an online speech, Bambang Pacul hopes that the implementation of this year's regional elections is in accordance with the Central Java KPU slogan, namely Luwih Becik Luwih Nyenengke (Better Fun). "It is hoped that this regional election will compete with great joy," he said. Meanwhile, the candidate for governor Andika Perkasa would like to thank the election organizers for the implementation of this registration. "Furthermore, we will obey the rules according to the ongoing stages," he said. PDIP carries former TNI Commander General (Ret.) Andika Perkasa and LKPP Head Hendrar Prihadi as candidates for governor and deputy governor in the 2024 Central Java Pilkada.
