This Is What PDIP Said About Anies' Chance In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election After The Aspirations Of Pramono Anung-Rano Karno Appeared

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Djarot Saiful Hidayat said the steps in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election were still dynamic. Later, a number of names emerged internally, such as Pramono Anung-Rano Karno.

"(The emergence of Pramono-Rano's aspirations, ed) is yes. Therefore, the aspirations are also from below," Djarot told reporters at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 26.

In addition, the names of party cadres bearing the symbol of another bull also appeared. Among them are Basuki Tjahja Purnama alias Ahok, Ronny Talapessy, Adian Napitupulu, to Eriko Sotarduga.

"Aspirations exist. Our aspirations capture the aspirations conveyed from below," said the former governor of Jakarta.

Meanwhile, regarding Anies' opportunity for a party bearing the bull symbol in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, Djarot did not provide certainty. He said, PDIP General Chair Megawati would make a decision.

It is the same as regional head candidates for East Java and West Java Provinces which have not been announced by PDIP. "These very strategic areas are the authority of Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri, the general chairman," he said.

"So we give it entirely to the general chairman to use his prerogative," he continued.

Previously reported, PDIP was widely heard that it would nominate Anies Baswedan as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. He is planned to duet Rano Karno, who is a cadre of the party made by Megawati Soekarnoputri.

However, Anies-Rano was not included in the candidate pair for regional head who received the recommendation and was announced on Monday, August 26. PDIP only announced six candidates for governor and deputy as well as dozens of regent/mayor candidates.

Among those announced were Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi who ran in the Central Java gubernatorial election and Airin Rachmi Diany-Ade Sumardi to run in the Banten gubernatorial election.
