The PKB Congress In Bali Was Enlivened By Karangan Bunga From Megawati To Surya Paloh

JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) will hold the 6th Congress in Nusa Dua, Bali today until tomorrow. Ahead of the implementation of the congress, a line of flower bouquets from a number of figures installed at the Nusa Dua Hotel.

The wreath contains messages of encouragement and good hope for the sustainability of PKB in the future.

It appears that the senders of flower bouquets ranging from PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and PDI-P DPP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, Acting Chairman of the Mardiono United Development Party (PPP), PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu, Indonesian Bawaslu Member Loly Suhenty.

Then, there was also a wreath sent by the Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI Syarief Hasan, the President of the Confederation of SABUMUSI Irham Ali Syaifuddin, the Chairman of the PKS faction of the DPR RI Jazuli Juwaini, and the leaders of other high institutions.

The congress is the highest decision-making forum for PKB ahead of the change of management attended by all representatives or envoys from the regional leadership council (DPW) and branch leadership councils (DPC) throughout Indonesia, including the PKB autonomous body. This year, the congress was attended by thousands of PKB cadres.

Tonight, administrators at the regional level will evaluate Cak Imin's leadership over the past five years. This evaluation is used as the basis for determining whether Cak Imin deserves to return to lead the party or be replaced.

On the one hand, Cak Imin admitted that he would surrender if he was not elected to return to lead the party in the next management period.

"Basically I give up whatever is the choice of the PKB branch, I will join. But I also have no ambition because being a ketum is a tough task that is not a matter of wanting, but a matter of responsibility," said Cak Imin on Friday, August 23.

"It depends on whether my accountability for the past 5 years is accepted or not. The point of evaluation is how after that there is a forum called a general view of evaluation, then there will be branches throughout Indonesia taking conclusions, whether to continue or not," he added.

Some time ago, the chairman of the PKB DPP Faisol Riza as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Congress said that PKB would follow up on the wishes of all regional party officials to branches. PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar was confirmed to be returning to lead the party in the next period.

"Regarding the request to Mr. Muhaimin as the general chairman of the PKB to lead again, it has been conveyed by all branches and DPW asking for his willingness to re-lead PKB in the upcoming government and in the upcoming DPP management," said Faisol at the PKB DPP office, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 8.

Faisol explained that the agenda of the congress began with an accountability report from the DPP Management for the 2019-2024 period.

Furthermore, the PKB ranks held a number of trials related to, for example, programs or outlines of parties in the management for the next five years. The main thing is whether PKB will join the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government or be on the opposition line.

"In general, the voices of all branches and DPWs have so far wanted almost everyone to say that PKB must join the upcoming government," explained Faisol.
