Today's Labor Demonstration In Front Of The DPR, The Police Will Implement Traffic Engineering

JAKARTA - The Labor Party and the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) will hold a demonstration in front of the DPR/MPR Building regarding the decision to annul the Constitutional Court (MK) decision on the Regional Head Election (Pilkada), today, Thursday 22 August.

Regarding this action, Polda Metro Jaya will implement traffic flow engineering around the 'people representatives' building.

"Yes (implementation of traffic flow engineering), situational yes," said Head of Ops of the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Dermawan Karosekali to VOI, Thursday, August 22.

Situational implementation means that traffic flow engineering will be carried out if the situation and conditions on the ground are deemed necessary.

Possibly, the scheme that will be implemented is such as diverting traffic flow. The goal is so that people are not disturbed by the activities of expressing opinions in public.

Meanwhile, in the @tmcpoldametro Instagram account, the police appealed to the public not to cross the DPR/MPR Building area.

"PolMin urges to avoid traffic flow around the House of Representatives (DPR) building and the Constitutional Court (MK) because there are community activities at 09.00 to be completed," wrote the account @tmcpoldametro.

The demonstration is planned to begin at 09.00 WIB. Around 2,000 workers will be involved in the action.

The demands behind the demonstration were urging the Indonesian House of Representatives not to resist and change the Constitutional Court Decree No. 60/PUU-XXII/2024.
