Investigating Allegations Of Blasphemy, Polda Metro Will Check Wanda Harra

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya will examine Wanda Harra on suspicion of blasphemy for using the hijab and also the cadar during the study of Ustaz Hanan Attaki.

The examination of Wanda Harra is a follow-up to the police report (LP) delegated by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police to the Polda Metro Jaya.

"(The investigation) of the Reported Party may be in the next few weeks," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Wednesday, August 21.

Before examining Wanda Harra, investigators will first ask for information from several other parties, such as the Event Organizer (EO) which organizes these activities and so on.

The examination of related parties, said Ade, was to put together the actual facts behind the alleged blasphemy that was reported.

"In the near future, the EO that organizes this study activity will also be clarified," he said.

So far, four witnesses have been examined, one of whom is the reporting party.

On the other hand, it was also conveyed about the process of transferring the handling of the alleged blasphemy LP.

The reporter was originally supposed to report Wanda Harra to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police. The report is registered with the number LP/B/247/VII/2024/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI dated July 24, 2024.

However, Bareskrim Polri investigators with certain considerations submitted their handling to the General Criminal Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya.

"The Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Subdit Kamneg has received an abundance, yes, the delegation of police reports from Bareskrim Polri regarding allegations of blasphemy, as regulated in Article 156a of the Criminal Code," said Ade.
