JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab denies all charges by the prosecutor regarding incitement to the Petamburan crowd during the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday and the marriage of his daughter Syarifah Najwa Shihab. Rizieq calls the prosecutor's charges slander.

"I first express my deep concern over the prosecutor's charges which are full of slander and heinous accusations against me and my friends from the commemoration committee for the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in Petamburan," said Rizieq Shihab reading a personal objection note at the East Jakarta District Court. , Friday, March 26.

In his exception, Rizieq Shihab reviewed the violation of health protocols in Indonesia. He alluded to the violations of the health process by many figures such as national officials, artists, ministers as well as President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"However, the police and prosecutors only focus and are serious on the crowd of Prophet Muhammad SAW's birthday in Petamburan, which we actually held by participating in the health program and attended and guarded by the TNI and Polri, even the Jakarta COVID-19 Task Force also contributed and distributed thousands of masks," said Rizieq Shihab. .

"Why are the police and the prosecutor's office so eager and full of enthusiasm to criminalize the Prophet's birthday? In fact, when it was unexpected there was a buildup of participants in the Maulid commemoration because of the high enthusiasm of the people and the spontaneity of their longing so that there was accidentally a violation of the prokes, "he said.

Even though Rizieq Shihab and the Maulid committee admitted they were wrong and apologized openly to the public. Rizieq Shihab also said that he had paid a fine of Rp. 50 million and canceled plans to tour the archipelago until the COVID-19 pandemic ended.

Therefore, Rizieq Shihab questioned the legal justice for other prokes offenders. Rizieq said that the violations were committed by Jokowi, Jokowi's son Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Jokowi's son-in-law, Bobby Nasution.

"Jokowi's children and son-in-law during the 2020 Pilkada in Solo and Medan have committed dozens of violations of the prokes but have not been prosecuted by the police and the prosecutor's office. Is it because they are the family of the president that they are above the law, ”he said.

Then Rizieq Shihab mentioned Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, who was caught huddling with Raffi Ahmad at a businessman's birthday party in January 2021.

"This is most phenomenal on February 23, 2021, President Jokowi held a crowd of thousands of people without any prokes, even throwing parcels that had been planned and prepared in advance in Maumere, NTT. Instead of the Jokowi crowd and the violation of the prokes being prosecuted by the police and the prosecutor's office even the people who reported were rejected, and without shame, the National Police Headquarters immediately stated that there was no violation of the prokes why? Meanwhile, regarding the Petamburan crowd, Rizieq Shihab admitted to inviting people to honor the Prophet Muhammad.

"Not to incite the people to commit crimes. By Allah, I swear that only people without religion or anti-religion slander invitations to worship as incitement to evil, "he said.

Regarding this, Rizieq Shihab asked the panel of judges to stop the trial in an interim decision.

"Stopping the wrongful legal process against me and my friends and releasing us unconditionally for the sake of fulfilling a sense of justice while at the same time saving the legal order and joints of justice in this country which is being undermined by evil forces that are anti-religious and anti-Pancasila and endanger the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, "Said Rizieq Shihab.
