Reduce The Regional Regulation Target Ratified This Year, DKI DPRD: If It Can Be 50 Percent, It's Great

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Deserves Nainggolan admitted that his party will reduce the target of completing the draft regional regulations (Raperda) this year.

In fact, the DPRD and the DKI Provincial Government have agreed on 29 programs for the formation of regional regulations (propemperda) to be completed by 2024. However, the plan is for the completion of the Raperda which is the procurement program to be reduced by half.

"We will revise thepropemperda at the beginning to 15 or 16 this year," Pantas told reporters, Tuesday, August 20.

It is appropriate to admit that one of the obstacles to the completion of all regional regulations this year is the momentum of the 2024 General Election and the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections which make DPRD members share their work focus.

As a result of the political year's momentum, the DPRD tried to be realistic by reducing the target of discussion to the ratification of the previously set Raperda.

"Actually, if it can reach 50 percent (finished) it's already great. So it must be realistic too, so that in the future, don't make grandiose targets," said Pantas.

"The term is 12 (Raperda in one year) only. One month one regional regulation (separated), that's already great," he continued.

So far, the DPRD and the DKI Provincial Government are discussing a number of regional regulations, such as the regional property management Raperda, the utility network Raperda, the traffic control Raperda electronically, the transportation master plan.

However, it is appropriate to doubt that the Raperda can be ratified this year. Moreover, there will be a change of members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the 2019-2024 period to 2024-2029 next week.

"There is something being discussed, but it is impossible to resolve (this year)," he said.

However, there are 2 Raperda which will be ratified in the near future. Among them are the Raperda on the Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) of DKI Jakarta Province in 2024-2044 and the Raperda on the DKI Jakarta Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) for 2025-2045.

"Raperda RPJPD and RTRW, hopefully this can be resolved and can be determined in the plenary board of 20," he added.
