Tourism Bus Group Mania Overturned On Cipali Toll Road, 2 Passengers Died

PURWAKARTA - A tourism bus carrying the Mania Bus group overturned on the Cipali Toll Road kilometer 89, Cipeundeuy area, Subang, West Java, Sunday 18 August. The accident resulted in two people being killed. One of them is an 11-year-old child.

The bus accident with police number E 7508 YD is thought to have occurred due to a driver losing control, crashing into a truck, road divider, and eventually rolling over. The bus closed the route from Cirebon to Jakarta.

The Head of PJR Cipali Toll Road, AKP Anang, said that the accident occurred when a bus carrying 15 people, including a driver, was on its way from Kuningan to Banten for a tour. The bus is also scheduled to pick up other passengers in Jakarta who are part of the Mania Bus community.

"Arriving at the scene of the incident, a bus driver from PO Tunggal Jaya named Komarudin (47), a resident of Kuningan, allegedly lost control. The bus then swerved, hit a truck in front of him, then hit the road divider and overturned," said AKP Anang.

According to one of the survivors, they plan to travel with the Mania Bus group spread across Cirebon, Kuningan, and Jakarta. Their goal is the beach in Banten, and they plan to go home at night.

Two passengers died named Falah Khakul Akhyar (11), a resident of Kuningan who died on the spot due to serious injuries from being pinched, and Muhammad Jibril Nur Fauzan (23) died while receiving medical treatment at the hospital.

The accident victims were taken to Abdul Radjak Hospital, Purwakarta. Meanwhile, the bus carcass was taken to Kalijati, Subang. The truck involved in the accident fled from the scene.

This deadly accident case is currently being handled by the Subang Police Traffic Unit.
