9363 Prisons And Detention Centers In Jakarta Get Remissions August 17, 2024

JAKARTA - A total of 9363 correctional inmates (WBP) or inmates at the Correctional Institution (Lapas), Detention Center (Rutan) and the Special Child Development Institution (LPKA) in Jakarta received General Remission on August 17, 2024.

The granting of remissions was given directly by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Kemenkumham Regional Office to prisoners and children at the Class 1 Cipinang Penitentiary (Lapas), East Jakarta.

Head of Regional Office of the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Law and Human Rights, R. Andika Dwi Prasetya, said the number of prisoners and children in Jakarta proposed for remission was 9363 people. General remission 1 consists of 8771 people and 592 people get General Remission 2.

"The number of prisoners and children who have issued remission decrees is 9316 people, namely general remission 1 there are 8726 people and general remission 2 there are 590 people," Andika told reporters, Saturday, August 17.

The number of prisoners and children who are still waiting for the remission decree is 47 people, consisting of General Remission 1 there are 45 people and General Remission 2 there are 2 people.

Meanwhile, the Head of Cipinang Class 1 Prison, Enget Pulungan Prayer Manik, said that out of 2718 inmates at the Class 1 Cipinang Prison, 2369 people received remission.

"Those who get General Remission 1 or ordinary remission 2211 prisoners. Then there are 16 people who get special remission today," said Prayer Manik.

Please note, these 16 inmates who received special remissions were released directly on August 17, 2024, were convicts of general criminal cases.
