JAKARTA Commemorating the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the PLN of the Greater Jakarta Distribution Main Unit (UID) has again demonstrated its commitment to improving people's welfare through the Light Up The Dream program. This program provides free electricity connections for underprivileged DKI Jakarta residents, helping them gain better energy access.

A total of 27 underprivileged residents in various Customer Service Implementing Units (UP3) in the work area of PLN UID Greater Jakarta have benefited from this program. The distribution of aid recipients include 15 Marunda UP3 PLN, 3 Bintaro UP3 PLN, 3 Kramat Jati PLN, 3 Cempaka Putih PLN, 1 Bulungan PLN, and 3 Cengkareng UP3 PLN.

Lasiran, General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, emphasized that this program is a tangible form of PLN's support for people in need.

"We at PLN UID Jakarta Raya believe that access to electricity is a basic necessity that must be met for every citizen. Through the Light Up The Dream program, we hope to ease the burden on the community and provide opportunities to enjoy safe and reliable electricity," said Lasiran.

Lasiran also expressed his appreciation to all PLN employees who participated in this program.

"The success of this program cannot be separated from the contribution and sincerity of all PLN employees who voluntarily set aside some of their sustenance to help others. This is a tangible manifestation of our concern for the community," he added.

Gratitude (45), one of the residents of East Cakung Village who received free electricity connection assistance, expressed his gratitude to PLN.

"I am very grateful to PLN for the assistance of installing electricity. With electricity, my family and I can now live more comfortably and safely. This means a lot to us who have been struggling," said Syukur.

The Light Up The Dream program is a free electricity connection assistance initiative funded from PLN employee donations. This program aims to help underprivileged communities gain access to electricity, which is expected to improve their quality of life.
