NasDem Claims Anies Baswedan Knows Many Dynamics So He Is Not Disappointed If He Is Not Supported

Chairman of the DPP NasDem Party Willy Aditya claimed that former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was not disappointed with his party's decision regarding support in the Jakarta Pilkada. "No one is disappointed. Friends can ask Anies, and this is not an urgent decision. There are many dynamics, there are many variables, all of which are taken and discussed together with Anies," said Willy at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Antara, Friday, August 16. However, he said, NasDem will always be the home for Anies to discuss many things. "And Anies already understands this situation. The decision was taken together, not one-sidedly because that is the culture built by Pak Surya (General Chairperson of NasDem Surya Paloh)," he said. Therefore, he said that nothing was hidden because all decisions related to Anies and the Jakarta Pilkada were the result of deep talks. Previously, Surya Paloh admitted that he had clarified his party's position by telling Anies Baswedan that this is not a momentum for Anies Baswedan to run in the Jakarta Pilkada. “ I have told Mr. Anies: Mr. Anies, you are your younger brother, this is not your moment to run in the Jakarta Pilkada. We are looking for a more precise momentum going forward. There is that understanding, ” said Surya Paloh after visiting the residence of the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, Thursday (15/8).

Surya said that his visit to the residence of the elected president also made clear the position of the NasDem Party. On that occasion, Surya said that NasDem was determined to support Prabowo's government in the future.
