SERANG - Acting Governor of Banten Al Muktabar said there were limitations of local governments in giving appreciation to gold-winning weightlifters at the 2024 Olympics, Rizki Juniansyah.

"So the space for local governments is indeed limited in order," said Al Muktabar as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 15.

According to him, the procession procession, starting from picking up at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to traveling around the city, is a form of appreciation given.

"I think we think positively, only because we glorify. So we procession and that is also part of our communication with the management, hopefully, his name will glorify," he said.

Al Muktabar acknowledged the limitations of local governments to formally release Rizki to the Olympics.

This is because the process of departing the athletes is carried out nationally.

"So please also give the public a point of view on the positive side, because there was management, right, when we went back to the area, so we respected him," said Al Muktabar.

Previously, after the procession on Wednesday (14/8) Rizki Juniansyah flicked the behavior of local government officials who he said wanted to find a face with his achievements.

Rizki admitted that when he left to compete, there was no attention and support, both material and moral from the local government.

He hopes that in the future there will be local government attention and appreciation for athletes competing at the national and international levels.
