Paulus Tannos Buron, KPK Ensures Investigation Of E-KTP Cases Continues

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the search for fugitive Paulus Tannos, who is a suspect in the alleged corruption of the Electronic KTP (e-KTP) procurement project, continues. There has been no order to stop the investigation (SP3) issued yet. "What is clear is that the investigation process is still ongoing. As previously stated, there is no SP3 on behalf of PT's brother, "said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters quoted on Wednesday, August 14. As for the search for Paulus, Tessa did not want to talk much. There is no update that we can convey," he said. Previously, the KPK revealed that Paulus Tannos no longer holds Indonesian passports. As a result, they were unable to arrest the suspect in the alleged corruption of the Electronic KTP procurement project (e-KTP) even though they have found it in neighboring countries. The corruption case of the procurement of this e-KTP has harmed the state up to Rp2.3 trillion if referring to the report of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

This case dragged the names of a number of high-ranking officials in the ministry such as former Director General of Dukcapil Irman and former officials at the Ministry of Home Affairs Sugiharto. In addition, there is also the name of former Chairman of the DPR Setya Novanto, former member of Commission III DPR Fraction Hanura Miryam S Haryani, former member of Commission III of the DPR Markus Nari. The last time the KPK named four new suspects in the e-KTP case in August 2020. They are former member of Commission II of the DPR from the Hanura Party Faction, Miryam S Haryani, President Director of the Indonesian State Printing Corporation (PNRI) as well as Chairman of the PNRI Consortium Isnu Edhi Wijaya, Chairman of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of KTP Husni Fahmi, and President Director of PT Sandipala Arthaputra, Paulus Tanos.
