Selling Antidepressant Drugs From Pretending To Be Medical, Men In Bogor Arrested By Police

Bogor City Police arrested a man with the initials AN alias Gatot (32) who was caught selling antidepressant drugs aka psychotropic drugs from pretending to be treated and redeeming recipes to doctors.

Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Pol Bismo Teguh Prakoso said the suspect was arrested on Monday (12/8/2024) at his residence in Sukasari Village, Bogor City.

"The evidence that was secured was two psychotropic items of the Riklona type, 27 psychotropic pills of the Atarax Alprazolam type, and sales money of Rp. 30 thousand," he said in Bogor City, Tuesday, August 13, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained, from the results of the suspect's statement, the psychotropic drug was obtained by pretending to be treated.

"The prescription for medicine from a doctor is redeemed, after that the medicine is sold at an average price of Rp. 25,000 to Rp. 30 thousand," he said.

Bismo revealed that Gatot's arrest began with public information, which stated that the suspect was often an intermediary in buying and selling various types of psychotropics. The police then conducted an investigation.

He said the police came to the suspect's house, and found one person with physical characteristics who informed him that he was in front of the terrace of the house.

"Furthermore, the opsnal team secured, interrogated, and conducted a search. Psychotropic evidence and money from the sale were found in the spare bag in the house," he said.

Currently, said Bismo, the suspect and his evidence have been taken to the Bogor City Police Narcotics Unit for further investigation.
