SEMARANG - Police are investigating the robbery of a warehouse for a snack distributor owned by PT Sinar Abadi Semarang on Jalan Siliwangi, Semarang City, Central Java. The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Semarang Police, AKP Budi Setyono, said that the incident was first discovered by employees when they were about to come to work. "Officers who will come to work find the warehouse lock is already open," he said in Semarang as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 12. The Semarang Polrestabes Inafis Team was dispatched to the location to conduct a crime scene investigation. From the results of the crime scene, he continued, it was known that the perpetrator entered by prying the door of the warehouse. "We found a mark of prying, the alleged perpetrator was wearing a crowbar," he said. According to him, the perpetrator took away the safe containing Rp20 million in cash and checked Rp19 million. In addition to breaking into the snack storage warehouse, he continued, the perpetrator also broke into the shophouse next to him. In the second location, according to him, the perpetrator took away the CCTV server installed around the location.

He said investigators could not confirm the number of perpetrators who acted in the robbery. "This bar is without guards at night," he added.
