KPK Investigate Acceptance Of Gratification And Money Laundering Abdul Gani Kasuba Through Chairman Of The DPRD Kuntu Daud

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned the Chairman of the North Maluku DPRD, Kuntu Daud, regarding the receipt of gratuities and money laundering of former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba. He has undergone examination by investigators today.

"KD as the DPRD confirmed the day investigators. Explore the witness' knowledge about the receipt of gratuities and money laundering by the suspect," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, August 12.

Meanwhile, when asked about Kuntu's confession being questioned about the construction of the North Maluku PDIP DPD office, Tessa did not want to answer further. He said investigators were still investigating.

As previously reported, the chairman of the North Maluku DPRD, Kuntu Daud, claimed that he was only being questioned regarding the construction of the North Maluku PDIP DPD office. The determination of this suspect was carried out as the development of the alleged bribery of goods and services procurement projects as well as the granting of permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government. He has been detained along with five other suspects since December 20 after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT).

In addition, the KPK named Abdul Gani Kasuba's confidant, Muhaimin Syarif, who is the former chairman of the North Maluku Gerindra Party DPD as a suspect.

He is suspected of bribing former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba in the amount of Rp. 7 billion for the management of the Production Operation IUP to the proposal for the determination of the mining business permit area (WIUP) to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
