One Of The Two Battery Tower Thieves In Duren Sawit Was Beaten By Residents Until The Battered Round

The thief of tower batteries in Duren Sawit was beaten by residents

JAKARTA - A man was battered by mobs because he was caught stealing an internet tower battery on Jalan 29, RT 09/07, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta. One other perpetrator who managed to escape is now in police pursuit.

"There are two perpetrators. This one has come out, carrying a battery tower. Finally, the key to the perpetrator's motorbike was removed by the residents, panicked. One perpetrator ran not with a motorbike (bur), one was arrested," said an eye witness to the incident, Head of RT 09/07, Rohili told reporters, Monday, August 12.

He knew that the incident began when he finished attending the meeting at the RW level. Then he got a report from the residents if there were thieves.

"I finished the meeting from RW, there were reports from residents that they said there were thieves, took battery tower equipment. I arrived when I was arrested by residents, I was embraced in a sewer," he said.

Residents were furious and beat the perpetrator wearing a black sweater.

"Residents have gathered and I am afraid that something unexpected will happen. I will secure it into the RT 09/07 post," he said.

Even though they were already in the RT post, residents who were at the location continued to crowd and hit the perpetrators. The action of the residents was even more brutal because more and more residents came to the scene.

Luckily, the vigilant action was suppressed by the Duren Sawit Police Buser Team who arrived at the scene. The perpetrator was finally arrested by members of the Duren Sawit Police Buser Team from the tantrums of the masses.

In addition to arresting the perpetrators, evidence was also confiscated in the form of motorbikes belonging to the perpetrators, stolen tower batteries and pliers used by the perpetrators to cut the tower cable and battery.

Furthermore, the perpetrators along with evidence of stolen batteries and cutting aid were taken to the Duren Sawit Police for further processing. Currently, the perpetrator is still under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police.
