PDIP Secretary General Concerned About Airlangga Hartarto's News Resigning As Chairman Of Golkar

JAKARTA Airlangga Hartarto's resignation as General Chair of the Golkar Party has attracted the attention of many parties. PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said he was surprised to learn about the news.

"This is very surprising because this is in the context of simultaneous regional elections, and there has been a political incident that in our category is an extraordinary thing that touches the aspect of party sovereignty," said Hasto in the Senayan area, Jakarta, Sunday, August 11.

According to him, Airlangga is a communicator figure and a colleague who builds good political cooperation.

"In the regional elections, we have worked a lot with the Golkar Party, apart from other parties such as Gerindra, PKB, PPP, Perindo, Hanura, and also the National Mandate Party," he said.

Therefore, Hasto has reported to the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri regarding the dynamics of national politics, including Airlangga resigning from the position of chairman.

However, he said that his party did not want to interfere with the households of other political parties.

"However, of course what happened was very surprising, and we are concerned because we can also feel the spiritual atmosphere behind it," he explained.

Hasto stated that his party was concerned because Airlangga had resigned from the party chairman, including challenges for the nation and political parties to show his sovereignty as a party that carries the mandate of the people.

"PDI-P has had bad experiences during the New Order era when various power interventions were carried out whose goal was to dwarf democracy, to distance the principles of people's sovereignty," he said.
