The Chair Of The Deputy Governor Candidate For The Key PKS Joins KIM Plus In The 2024 Jakarta Pilkada

JAKARTA PPI Executive Director Adi Prayitno said the seat of deputy governor candidate as Ridwan Kamil's companion was the key to PKS joining the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

According to him, the discourse about KIM Plus so far has been very synonymous with how PKS joined by placing its cadre as Ridwan Kamil's representative. In fact, PKS once admitted to getting an offer for the position of deputy governor candidate from the KIM camp before PKS declared the Annies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman pair.

"Maybe at that time PKS' political faith was still strong. However, now the attitude of PKS has changed and is increasingly realistic. This step was also influenced by the stocks of support from other political parties for the Anies-Sohibul pair," he said, Sunday, August 11, 2024.

He believes that the conversation of the cawagub accompanying Ridwan Kamil that KIM will announce is already at the end. Therefore, when PKS decided to leave Anies and switch to KIM, the position of the RK cawagub had been agreed to belong to PKS.

"I think if they have spoken on behalf of KIM, they will agree internally that the champion governor they carry is Ridwan Kamil, the deputy is from PKS. So there is a compromise point or key," explained Adi.

On the other hand, joining PKS to KIM Plus will also have a domino effect on the Jakarta Pilkada, namely the creation of an empty box scenario and the abandonment of the PDI-P. What is the effect if the majority of the parties join KIM? One, of course, has the potential to fight the empty box. And the second PDIP is left behind and not invited in a plus coalition," added Adi.

However, the scenario of the empty box in the Jakarta Pilkada will wait for the factual verification of independent candidates who are currently still in the KPU. If the independent candidate fails to verify, said Adi, then the candidate promoted by KIM Plus will fight the empty box in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.
